Default Looking for some kind of full sized in $100 range...

Currently own MDR-D66 Eggos and ER6i, and I used to own MDR-V6 but I crushed them in my backpack.

Anyways, I really liked my old V6, but anything else similar in this price range that I might look into instead? Are the V900s a better choice than the V6s? I'm not completely against the idea of open headphones, but I'd probably prefer closed.

Suggestions of what to look into? Thanks

Im not a huge fan of the Grados only because I found them to feel awkward and uncomfortable, my dad has them and loves them though (SR60s)

HD555

I use them more than the HD580 ( LOL ) only because I don't have proper amplification. They look better with my computer setup also and as far as build quality I am gonna have to give it to the HD555 they just feel solidier with the metal grills and than I prefer the left wire than the v wire. ( I know the left wire isn't the correct name )

thanks for the suggestions.

I should add, I listen to mostly rock and rap, and I will be listening mostly with an iPod with no external amp or through my PC through an Audigy 2.

any other suggestions here? are there any non-sennheiser brands that are worth checking in this price range that I can drive with an iPod and no amp?

I know the Grados' are questionable because of the comfort. But there is another Grado that isn't, and perhaps with one of the tons of pad swaps available, they may be able to fit comfortably enough.

The Grado/Alessandro MS-1 is a good one that works well without an amp and covers a much wider range of music than the much-more-fun SR-60 does, and they beat your price limit by a buck.

They may be worth a look.

Another call out for the MS-1s. I love those things and can wear them all day with the stock pads.

First link on Google: http://www.alessandro-products.com/headphones.html (or every now and then in the FS forum).
