Itching for new canalphones ...
So, i'm itching for new canalphones ...
I'm spending the semester studying abroad in France, in tight quarters with a bunch of other studends, and i've been listening to lots of music lately, and i'm itching to upgrade the portable/canalphone aspect of my life.
I have ...
AKG K81DJ's: For reference, these are the best sounding headphones that i own/have heard. I enjoy them very much, and they have everything i need to keep me happy. Which also means i enjoy their bass.
Shure e2's: First pair of decent-ish IEM's ... i don't like them at all. In fact, i dislike them, actually. They're quite uncomfortable, and they don't sit in my ears correctly at all. I've tried foamies, soft silicone, and the regular clear ones (who uses those, anyway?) ... they don't do me good. And i can get a good seal -- but still find them to sound like a little driver pushing sound through a plastic tube ... (oh, wait ... ). It sound hollow, and distant.
Marshmallows, sans filter, shure soft silicone tips: These are what i use over my e2c's. They don't sound too bad, and they're very comfortable for me ...
So, no, i don't need anything crazy, but something that sounds better than the e2's would be nice.
How about:
CX300
Mylarone XB (the most "detail" i've heard thus far is my AKG's ... so ...)
Denon AH-C350
V-moda?
J-Jays?
Any help as to what would give me a better sound than my e2's (which i dislike, so maybe anything) ... maybe a warmer sound, about the pricerange of the one's i listed ... ?
I listen to lots of music ... Radiohead, Dave Matthews, Dashboard, Sigur Ros, Brand New, Youth Group, Peter Bjorn & John, etc ...
