With the German distributor there was one guy and John.

German guys says I want X and John builds X.

Trying to come to a concensus on these boards is nearly impossible
No problem:

Zanth says “I want PS-1 drivers in an Rs-1 body” and John builds them.

Zanth post on Head-fi “I have 200 RPS-1 Head-fi Edition at 600 USD a piece. Who want one?

Zanth has sold all of them 10 minutes later.

Zanth can cash 100 USD a piece as donations to Head-fi.

How is that? =o)

Thank you, Zanth. Always a pleasure to read a write up with impeccable punctuation and grammar. Must be the academician in you

Because I own the HP-1, RS-1 and PS-1, I too would likely have a good time with an RS-1 with PS-1 drivers in there with the new dampening techniques etc. I mean, why not? I love switching up as it is.

What has really struck me is how I am enjoying the Alessandro MS-Pro's I have on loan at the moment (thanks Ken!). Though I would personally take the RS-1's over the MS-Pro's, there are times I do enjoy their slightly more linear sound. It is very slight relatively speaking, but not so slight within the line.

I'm always interested in listening to new phones, no matter what the company, but when my favourite company puts out a new phone, I am nigh desperate to have a listen

I'd like any Grado drivers in an HP-1000 body, because I think it looks the coolest.

Sounds great, but what if it sucks? Would we not want a prototype for Zanth to test before committing to 200 of them?

Zanth, did your conversation at some point raise the issue of how Grado headphones are equalized like free-field or simply by ears?

I thought this was going to be a Q&A style interview where we get to read exactly what John said. Argh. Rewrite it.

Nope, but maybe I can find out at some point. In the design John stated he was using his ears mostly then in production he used high tech gear for testing.

I believe I addressed this many times. I could not record the conversation hence no transcript. I'm sorry it was not to your liking, John has informed me already that the writeup was fine and that I did justice to all his responses to my questions.
