I recently destroyed the left channel of my iGrado headphones by chewing on the wires. Disgusting i know... Now the problem is that i have lost the receipt to send it back for a replacement, so the only option for me is to re-cable them myself. Are there anyone who is willing to help show me a step-by-step guide or to help give me links that shows how to do it? Any help would be very much appreciated
depends on which version of the iGrado you have, you might or might not be able to recable it. The newer version is said to have the driver baffle hot glued to the housing so it is not possible to open it up for rewire work (unless if you are willing to destroy the housing).
I think Koss has life time warranty, you don't need a receipt (correct me if I am wrong) --- woops, how did I mixed up the KSC and iGrado....?
If you do recable though, try to use thin pure silver/teflon wire, major major improvement in SQ, lots of details.
Sorry for the late post, been busy. Thanks for replying. Im sure people have tried recabling but i still cant seem to find a step by step guide as im quite a newbie in the recabling area. Any ideas? The only Igrados by the way, i dont think theres another version of the iGrado... Or maybe i dont know enough... heheh. Any help would be appreciated.
there are two versions, they all look the same, except the hot-glued baffle......
you will need to first figure out if it is possible to recable them at all, then you can worry about how to do it.
