If I turned my grado ear cups to circumarual ear pads how would that alter the sound?

I couldn't find a thred about this with a few key word searches but have heard many times that the ear cups help make the sound of both grados and senns unique. Thanks for your help. aaron
P.S. Perhaps your could recomend a mod that was succesful for you as well.

A good place to start would be the sock mod and opinions about it.

They sound thin with a mod like this. Here is what i did that is very similar to the circumarual. I took the Vwaps and i cut a larger hole in the front. When you put them on backwards they feel very similar to the circumarual but it moves the drivers a little further away from your ears and the bass fades away. The highs and mids get a little better but the bass fades.

If you have some vwaps put them on backwards.
