Default I think I found the definition of "harsh" and "overly bright".

Although Im a big fan of The Doors some of their guitar solo's really wreck havoc on my ears. For example, 2:00 to ~2:28 and 4:00-4:45 of Light My Fire. Ouch! And maybe the last ~25 seconds of Touch Me. But not so much compared to Light My Fire.

EDIT: It was on the 'The Best of The Doors (2000)' album version.

There are now several different masters/mixes out on CD for them. I wonder if that makes a difference ...

well aren't sr80s known to be bright and harsh anyways...?

Not really.. Grados in general are known by some to be a bit peaky in the treble but the SR80 is one of the more bassy SR models.
