How to increase your enjoyment of headphones
Take them off for a day or two.
Headphones give us all the ability to enjoy music privately. This means we headfiers tend to use them for much longer periods of time, and at louder levels, than we would with speakers.
Give your ears a break for a few days. Let them recover a little, enjoy the silence for a while. Just as going hungry enjoys your appreciation of good food, I guarantee that when you put your phones back on, your appreciation of the music will increase greatly.

Agreed.
I sometimes don't get to use my phones cos I'm always running around but when I get some downtime and put on my Grados... Mmm-mm-mm-mmmmmmm!

Words of wisdom indeed.
For those who are getting bored with a particular can/ amp/ source, it's a good idea to go without using that unit for a few weeks and then try and see if the first love resurfaces.

Yes. excellent advice. I have been doing this. I just need to get away from music for a day or two. Then it starts to play in my head. Time to go back.

Definitely agree with this, particularly with IEM's.

Good advice. Unfortunately for me, some of that silence is now gone...

How to increase your headphone enjoyment
Put on stock earbuds for 5 mins and then put on your pair.

Yes that's it!
Don't listen to your headphones or do a downgrade for a few days. When you listen to your hi-end headphones after that you'll enjoy them much more. Did it with my ms-1's (listened to mdr-v150 for a couple of days, what a hell ).

Another thing you should try is to use your headphones at different places outside for example. When it's warm and nice outside, just get a chair, sit down in your garden, connect them to a portable and enjoy.
I once did this and it gave me very nice restults, they even seemed to sound better than connected to my actual home rig

Another advice is to turn off all lights, or use dim lights, since seeing things detract from our listening experience. It's very effective, but simply closing your eyes won't work since that will just cause you to become sleepy.
