Help - Which Would You Pick?

I am in "need" of some new goodness in my ears...

Which would you pick: AKG k701 or Beyerdynamic DT990 (2005)?

They're going to be driven by a RSA SR-71.

And, of course, I'll include the obligatory 'Other' for those of you who don't want to play .

Try something more unusual than the regular suspects (HD650, DT880/990, K701).

I have the HF-1's and I greatly enjoyed the new DT-880's at the meet. They were a breath of fresh air and yet not a let down from the HF-1's in many respects at the same time. They far exceeded the HF-1's with my organ and orchestral music and fell short with rock. Still, if I had the money, I would keep a pair of those around to listen to organ music on. The DT-990's were way too bright to my ears both times that I tried them, and the DT-770's were far too boomy to my ears on the contrary (although they are known for that). The DT-880's sounded in between those two, "right" to my ears.

Let's look for something more "fun"...something with a wow factor when I blast some Crystal Method...
