I just came upon a realization...I don't think I've ever seen the SR60 recommended as a "groovalizer," but why shouldn't it be? There are few things that can get your foot tapping like an SR60, and it fits the definition of groovalizer extremely well: the SR60 isn't the most accurate or detailed phone around, but it brings fun to the listener in spades. When you wrap the SR60 around your head you tend to listen to the music and not the equipment...of the several headphones I've owned, the SR60 and SR80 were great at simply making the music enjoyable, not revealing every flaw in it.

So from now on when someone mentions the typical groovalizers (DT 531, K240S, etc.) let us not forget to include the SR60. Man, what a bargain in the world of headphones!

Yeah, this thread is making me regret selling mine. I didn't even own them long enough to fully break them in.

That is what made me choose the SR60. I was quite surprised by them even after hearing stuff that costed quite a bit more

I sold the DT770 and wanted another full sized headphone for "portable" use. I was also planning on selling the MS2 to fund the canalphone purchase and didn't want to go completely without the Grado sound. I am having a hell of a time selling the MS2 though. Everytime I go to put it up for sale I have to have one last listen and I decide I cannot sell.

I don't know what, but something has to pay off my credit card. I have way too much crap right now. I am going to have some decent sized dentist bills from getting my wisdom teeth removed, so something really needs to go here.

I'm never selling mine- I could use a redo on the plug though. Grado charges $25 to repair this semi intermittent connection at my plug's bend. Maybe a 1/8" right angled connector like on the Cardas HPI mini to mini interconnect? Ohhh, I would pay for that service!

Somebody set up us the ,
Abe

Maybe I should get some SR-60s now that I've probably got to sell everything.

Well now, if your financial situation is less than perfect(really, who at headfi makes six figures?) then by all means, go for it. This manager at this place I do janitorial work at, Tim(cool guy BTW), saw my SR60's and was amazed at the fact someone he knows has Grado's. I think he's either going to end up with SR60's or "the best headphones under $50", which by my understanding meant he was getting PortaPros or PX100's or something. I should let him listen with my Senn pads on to blow his mind- waddaya think?

Also, since my avatar is kind of dated, should I change it to another piece of my art, from aml Project 2005-2006(a sequel to my novel)? Any answers would be appreciated. So would be interest in what the heck I'm rambling about- the more the better.

Sometimes you feel like a , sometimes you ,

I have the same problem with my SR60's... I go back and listen to them, and think "I should definitely keep them". But since they won't fetch too much anyway ($55-ish used) since they're only $70 new, I should just hold onto them, right?

Plus, sooner or later I need to get my wisdom teeth removed too... I'm approaching 30 this year, and can't wait much longer to get them yanked...

I believe the real reason was because Grados are very expensive outside USA, like in Mr. Groovalizer's EU land. We share similar thoughts on this matter.

I don't think I'll sell my sr60 (okay, sr80) ever, because there are no other phones in its price class that will bring similar enjoyment. Groovy ! =)

Which Radio Shack pads are they again (which model #?) I have the stock comfys on mine right now, but also use the bowl pads, with a really thin set of Sony pads underneath the bowls (the kind that come on all their stock crappy walkman headphones). that way I can tame a little of the high end, but still retain the airiness of the bowl pads...

The beyers have the "groovalizer" trademarked, while grados are known to be the "Rockalizer." Technically, the SR225 is the Rockalizer, but who's to say the SR60 can't wear that mantle too?
