Default Good on you Lindrone !

that's right, thanks a lot for your reviews on Shure E5, those detailed considerations on the unit bought me out.
Almost a month ago I received the Ety's 4p and you probably remember I was very frustrated by the inesistent bass.
Well few considerations :
that time I tried the Ety's on iPod and I wasnt happy for the above issue, then few days ago I got the iRiver iHP-120: wow... my Ety's got to life and started to let me hear some extremely good sound ( had to bump a bit the bass on the iHP anyway).
So for few days I thought that I wasted some money since the same day I received the Ety's I placed an order for the Shure E5c.
Well today I got the E5 and in the box there was :
- cleaning tool
- foam sleeves
- flex sleeves
no triple flange sleeves ( old package ?), but I had them anyway cause I ordered them while waiting for my E5.
Well I'm using the triple flange right this moment, and I can hear the Chicane like if they where on stage right in front of me; no Eq settings , just clean well driven sound , extremely balanced and real. The bass ( basses) now are there without artificial pumping .
I LOVE these phones, and the more I listen to them more details I discover along the way. Delighting experience.
Wonder if those flex sleeves in the package are the new once or not.

Again good on you Lindrone and everybody else whose work here is providing a lot of knowledge to newbies like me.
( Only my wallet would love to have a chat with you
).

Hmm... you can join scottder, he's starting a class action lawsuit against me for making people dig into their wallets

I'm glad you found them the right fit for you... The flex sleeve that you got are the "clear" version, right? You can try ordering the "soft flex sleeve" from Shure's website (I think they're still a little hard to get directly from dealers). You might find them even more likeable than the tri-flange, depending on your musical taste.

Tri-flange is more towards the warm, bassy side, the soft flex sleeve will be just a little more balanced, and they're much easier to insert/remove.

Give it a shot and let me know.
