Funny Review: Fake ES7's
Ok ladies and gents,
As a funny read or just for general interest.
Lets start with some pics courtesy of PieRat:
It is important to note that the quality of these is not high as within one day of use, the plastic piece near the earcup snapped apart and need to be fixed with epoxy - all good now!
Appearance:
Well the ES7 is a very nice looking headphone and even the knockoff in general looks nice - from a distance. It reminds me of many impressionist paintings in that far away it all makes sense and looks amazing, but up close it is really just a sloppy mess. Yep, thats these fakes alright!
Sound:
Compared to the HD580's - well its not even worth it - yeah....
Overall, the sound is relatively thin. The bass is almost like taking ibuds and holding them against your ears. Detail: What detail? Seriously, there is very little detail to be had in these el-cheapo 'phones. The biggest problem that I have with these things is that the darn these distort cymbals and anything similar to no end and it actually %*&@^'s up the music pretty bad. The 30 year old AT's just stomp on top of them like a sledge hammer to fine china. It becomes so insignificant that it barely exists. It is very treble heavy and harsh in its presentation. EWWWWWW!
The best way to describe it is as if they took the KSC75 and put them in a crappy plastic closed housing and charged $90 for them.
Fit And Comfort:
The pads that they put on these are a very cheap pleather pad and it is super stiff. The headband must be "adjusted" to make the clamping force less than death. I would not reccomend these for indoor use or for any extended period of time because your ears get sweaty.
Overall:
The things sound like your typical Walmart $30-40 'phones. They could make good throw-aways if you want something to excercise with, but that is just about it. However, I got my money back and got to keep these fakes GRATIS , yay me...... For free they are not bad and I can easily see myself giving these to a friend of mine still using the old style of ibuds (which these still manage to better in every way). Maybe I am just being harsh, but people could get stuck paying retail for something not even worth 1/3rd of their investment.
Hope this made you smile a bit, and appreaciate honest companies.
Cheers!

Lol good review! There seems to be alot of Audio Technica knock offs... I remember buying one a while ago of the ES7 for like $10. They sounded pretty crappy but still better than stock buds IMO. I'm not even sure where they are any more though. Unlike your fakes though the finish and everything was PERFECT, exactly like the originals.
Just wondering, did yours come in a proper box or just in like a little plastic bag thing?

Proper box, including all the packaging and frills normally associated.
The drivers look EXACTLY like those in the KSC75 and are prolly from some other clonage.
BTW: whoever is making the fake amadanas is also prolly making these because the cable and plugs are exactly the same.

BTW - these have gone to a friend of mine who was using v2 iBuds. They are better than those... which is kinda sad.
