Equation Audio rp-21 vs Audio Technica ath m50s
as the title states, im stuck between these two headphones, will be used with my cmoy amps to listen to a variety of musics in a variety of places. would prefer isolation and in the uk the prices are only about 10 pounds apart.
so i need your opinions!
thanks

I haven't heard the rp21 but I used the m50 for a couple weeks. They're pretty good for bassy smooth music but not so much with certain rock imo. Hard to pinpoint exactly what it was though.

I would do a forum search for both of the models you are considering. There's more than a few threads on both, I think. I enjoy the RP-21's for rock and hip hop. The mids seem a little forward compared to my AKG headphones, and the treble is not very extended. Overall I prefer the AKG sound...have not heard the m-50's.

Sorry to bump this thread, but i'm now in the same situation as you were then, Cew27.
By the way, did you choose one over the other?
Anyone would care to directly compare the two?
I've spent much time the last two days reading a lot about both, but a "vs" would help me a little further.
Thanks guys!

I can tell you that if you like good extended treble you will find the RP21 lacking. I've read that the m50 is better in that regard and maybe a bit more detailed, but I've never head it myself. The RP21 has good bass...plenty of it...and really, only the highs are lacking, IMO. But my own personal preference is for the AKG sound sig.
