Default EH250 vs HD212 pro?

Looking for a cheap closed portable for around $50. I have the ATH SJ5 and just can't get into them. Something unnatural about the midrange and no bass punch to speak of. I have heard the HD212 at guitar center and they sounded decent but too much bass. How different are the EH250s? Any other recs in the pricerange? Not interested in the K81s, too similar to the SJ5s. I do not want to spend much because these will not get much head time between my other much better cans. Movies and music from my IPOD touch on the airplane, so some extra bass might be a good thing. Thanks for any help.

EH250 can't really sound much worse than HD212 - if that helps any.

212's are punchy, bit slaggy up the top but a half decent headphone when you consider the price
