This will be immensely useful to me, thanks for posting this thread. Just like wine, I love high quality audio, but have never bothered to learn the language to describe it. Now that I've found myself here at Head Fi, reading what everyone has to say, I have become much more eager to learn the language. Good stuff....and fun!

..regarding the term shrill, I have no specific objections to adding the term, but it is worth noting that the dictionary definition of shrill is clear.
?? Which dictionary are you using? Not that it matters. I don't think there would be significant disagreement on the meaning.

Yes, since just about all these terms are used metaphorically in ways so opaque to outsiders that we might as well include them here.
I'm tempted to invite suggestions for completely made-up words, but that would be silly.
Other Eq: Philips HP-250 (Temporary Retirement), Koss UR20 (for home use), Somic DJ-840 (broken headband fixed with twist ties and cellotape, cracking drivers - why the hell am i still keeping them???)
