ATH-W5000's office price is ¥120,750.(税抜 ¥115,000.)
But ATH-W5000's local street price is ¥71,499.
The Denon 7000 price should be around 70000-80000 yen on street shop.

All denon headphone are made in China.
Hope can change some people's idea for Chinese made product.

It really is a shame that Denon allowed a design flaw like that cup holding screw to happen, because the D2000s and the D5000s are lovely headphones.
To have a $500 pair of headphones come apart after a few weeks does little to impart confidence in a product whereever it's made.

This Japanese site had them listed for ¥88,200 (roughly US$803). Not listed now though, which is why my link is to Google's cache of the page. Guess Denon asked them to pull it because the product wasn't ready to be priced that low yet?

I don't think they have been officially released yet.

Yeah, flimsy cup holders and letters that wears away rapidly changed a lot opinions for sure.

Are they officially released? Don't see it on Denon website yet. Other than that would be interesting how much they will cost up here, in Europe, cos D5000 on Denon Germany are EUR 699 ( while on Denon Japan EUR 470 ), so these may go up to EUR 900+, which aren't that cheap, however...

It's not clear whether these issues are design defects or manufacturing defects. If, for example, Denon didn't specify that Loctite should be applied to the cup holder screws, then the loose cup screws would be Denon's fault, not the fault of the Chinese factory.

Got your point, but for customer it doesn't matter. He bought the cans and they broke, end of story

It would have been the end of story, except that QQQ was attributing the problems to "Made in China".

Let's not forget the atrocious cable on the D2000 as well

There are several kinds of customer, but I'd say most of them are understanding
