Warrior, I am also an avid reader of the Vibes thread and saw this post....thanks for reminding me. I probably get some of those tri-flanges as I am used to similar (bi-flanges) with my Etys.

I am pretty sure now that mine are not fakes as on some bass heavy tracks they sound pretty good, on others the bass is nothing special....might have to do with the source, the Etys probably smooth out/don't show these differences.

I want/need a tighter fit.

As I said in the 'favourite canalphone' thread, compared to other canals, they are very good and perhaps the best non-IEM you can get. But when people said that the CX300 bass was smooth, I think they were a tad bit too caught up with themselves. "Silky and smooth" is how I would describe the UM2 next to the CX300. The CX300 bass is still muddy but again next to the EX71 and HJE50 still an improvement

Your posts lead me to believe that I might have some fit issues, I tried all the different sizes but cannot see how you insert them deeply into the ear canal. As I said I own the Etys and I can shove them deep into the ear without problems. But the design and the rubber sleeves of the CX300 do not appear to be designed that way, these phones look more like earbuds. I can only manage to place them in my ear so that the rubber sleeves sits at the entrance of the ear canal and blocks it that way...much like a door blocks the entrance to a room. They are too short for proper insertion and the cable attachment point is in the way.
Yeah that exactly how they are meant to be. They arent like other IEMs were they go in all the way. But, just get them in as far as you can.

This one is how it should look. http://www.it.com.cn/f/audio/064/3/060403_cx300_1.jpg
Check the little rubber part that is where the wire connects to the headphone. Also In this pic it makes the R for right look a little big because of the shot. But compare yours to that picture. Hope that helps
