In case I'm wondering........show me the way please!!
I have Headsix which I paired with Zune with MS1 if I'm in the house and Qjays if I travel. I also have D2 which are gathering dust now. My songs MOSTLY are 320kbps above with some lossless WAV. I'm pretty much contend actually.......
BUT.......Say if I wanted to go further in the search of next sound nirvana, what would be the sensible way to go ? For BOTH home rig and portable rig Upgrade my can or amps? Or my source ?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you all !!

Hey......thanks for the response. I should've mentioned on my earlier post. Can anyone please mentioned the brand.......with all the myriad of brand out there, I'm stumped.
Bearing in mind my previous experience in the journey of head-fi. I listen mainly to easy listening, pop, old school rock (journey, etc), smooth jazz mainly guitar and piano (acoustic alchemy, jim brickman).........
Let me start.......I recently tried DT990 25ohm and kinda like it. Is this a sensible upgrade?

For both home and portable use? Hmm... That rules out the bigger amps and sources. I would look into some full size headphones then. The Beyers are a nice start though I would get the 250ohm version. Your amp should have no problem with them.

Your songs are already pretty well encoded for almost any upgrade you choose.
You'd be surprised how a full-size dac can improve the listening experience over a portable player. (I really like the PCM2702 DAC)
I'd recommend getting either a Keces 151, zero DAC or a fubar III first - which you can use through a computer. The problem with the keces 151 is that you will need an amp, because there isn't a volume control on that. The other two have amps built in.
I'll not recommend headphones, because it's a very personal choice and you didn't say anything about your budget either. If you upgrade the source/amp, you could power most of the headphones better than just using a portable player.

What I meant is you can suggest for either home or portable use setup. Headsix can drive 250ohm version ? Cant wait to try........Thanks

I have all my songs collection on my netbook, a MSI Wind. So if I get a DAC say a Fubar or maybe Cantate and hook it up with my notebook as home rig, then I would have a better sound ? CMIIW......

Yup. The stand alone USB-DACs generally have cleaner outputs than most portable players and soundcards in computers.
I haven't tried a zune before, but my Keces 151 and Heed Canamp combination outperforms my Creative Vision:m and Sony A729 by a long shot - both in terms of power and quality of the signal.
I have the same DAC in a full size DAC and in my portable DAC - the PCM 2702 and I can recommend it strongly.

Thanks Eugene.......I frequented this store at HongKong and perhaps on next visit I might bring my netbook and hook it up with a Cantate and DT990........
