Beyerdynamic to launch new top headphone at IFA -- called T1
Beyerdynamic will present a new top of the line headphone at Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, Germany. IFA starts on september, 4th. Called the Tesla 1 Beyerdynamic claims the driver has twice as much magnetic energy as competing models. No further details yet, but a link News:*IFA-Highlight bei Beyerdynamic mit Kopfhörer T 1**-*i-fidelity.net to the news report.
Moderator note: The thread title has been modified to include T1 in the description. This will make the thread easier to find with the search feature after it settles down and eventually drifts into the deep abyss of inactive threads.

How awesome is that! I really hope it has a low RRP, not something ridiculous like the HD800, I hope thats not the new standard for headphones.

That's fine, Beyer are the "good guys".
Sennheiser went through a major PR catastrophy here in Germany lately - the first HD800 exemplars got delivered in the late July or so, and they are only available in those ugly voodoo stores where wealthy elderly people buy.

Just when I had planned not to buy any more headphones....
Nevertheless, I'm very interested. Beyerdynamic makes some wonderful headphones and I'd always hoped to see them go for the high end.

The only way the T1 will 'compete' with the aforementioned in the eyes of those who own said headphones is if it costs the same, it's completely psychological. If the exact same T1 is released with a sub $400 price point it will automatically not 'compete', instead it will enter the realms of 'good for the price'.

And another interesting describe
"the driver has twice as much magnetic energy as competing models.
I guess this is not refer to NEW MAGNET SYSTEM.....
Maybe it's not use the usually NdFeB magnet? SmFeN magnets ? nanocomposite magnet?

Okay, that is the best name for a headphone yet. I want one just for that reason. I really hope they're good and sub 1k.

Interesting. I wonder if they will offer the MANUFAKTUR service with the Tesla...maybe a 1,200 ohms edition on the horsepower theme.
