Default Any reason to pick DT 770 when DT 990s are $2 more?

On B&H I found the 990 Pro for $169 and the 770 Pro for $167 so is there really any reason NOT to upgrade to the 990s? I'm looking for something to game with as well as listen to rock/metal and figured either would do, just wondered since there is such a small difference whether there is a reason the 770s are "more expensive" per say than the 990s.

Thanks guys, trying to take in as much as possible, but it's tough

They are both good headphones. The 770 is a "closed" design, which gives you more isolation. The 990's are "open", so they leak some sound. The 990's have a little less bass, but a more well rounded airy quality to them. In either case you would be well advised to have a decent amp to drive them, if you want to realize their full potential.

Personally I'd recommend the 990's. I own them and am quite happy.

I would go with the 990s also.
