If money is not too big of an issue, buy a used pair of K701 now, sell it when the K702 is actually available for a small loss, then buy a pair of K702.
If you don't want to lose any money, just grab a pair of K701 when the K702 are released or the K702 themselves.

It'll all come down to how patient you are.
Personally, I'd just buy the K701s (new or used) and get the best right out of the box.
But that's just me.

This is not the cans themselves. Excuse me for being sceptical.

I'm just throwing the info out there... I never said it was accurate on NSL's part.

It will be released in August. Now calm down, wait for August, enjoy your beer, and watch the Sweden-Russia football game.

That is a beautiful headphone right there. It looks kind of like that black K701 that someone had made. Also, I might be wrong but it looks like there aren't those dumb bubble things under the headband. The detachable cable is also excellent.
Exciting.
EDIT: I seem to be wrong about the bubble things. On inspection of the hi-res photo, there seems to be something in there.

Those "bubble things" hurt my head, that's why I sold my K701

hmm, im gonna stick with the 701s. you get the cradle, they look better IMHO, and are probably going to be cheaper.
