It's kind of a really soft facelift. At least the cables are upgradeable (we expected it) but nothing else.

Does anybody know if it is going to be single or double entry?
If it is single entry there is little point in swapping the cable since it will still rely on the metal arches to reach the other cup. Just a thought.

I can't see it being dual entry based on the single entry design of every mainstream studio/audio AKG including the K240S.

I have no idea. All AKG says they did in 1994 was release the world's smallest dual diaphragm microphone. It's not like they have a detailed timeline of headphone releases online.

K401 and K501 were released at the same time, so, probably.
This would mean that the development of the varimotion diaphragm shaping method occured at or around the time of their acquisition by Harman.
And it really is clever. Beats the heck out of just vacuuforming everything.
