Well in my opinion the K-701's would be better than the K-702's,because there are no cable connectors on the cups, and there is no risk that they would rust over time.

Red makes them faster, didn't you know?

I dunno about rust, but I do not see a removable cable as a plus. If I should desire a cable change I am more than confidant in my soldering skills.

I don't know what everyone complains about with the white on the 701's, I thought it was a nice contrast from the darker colors... all I know is that when I saw them in a music store in Guadalajara a couple months ago, I though they were so beautiful.......
Too bad they cost $4,700 pesos, but I guess $450 bucks US is about the tops for those, so it wasn't ridiculously priced....

I am in a love-and-hate situation with the k701, when i don't have it with me, i miss the detail on that headphone. On the other hand, when i do own it, i find it a little annoying when i want to sit back and relax with the music. To me the k701, like someone who has said it in other thread, 'I am here, listen to me!' kinda impression.
Hopefully they will improve the earpads, because i have a smaller head, it clamps hard enough to hurt my back jaws :/

Same here.
really like the sound.
But they made the top of my head hurt.
If the 702's have a greater range of adjustability for the headband I'd buy them.

The headband will soften with time and become much more comfortable.
The 'clamping' will also eases with time, or you can encourage it by flexing it a bit to lessen the tension.

Looking forward to the pictures and the release (but I'm not expecting significant changes either if the price doesn't increase much).
Just a quick question: Is the AKG 701 (702) unsuitable for movies?

THE K702s LIVE!!!!
Sennheiser Pro and Evolution and Shure UHF Wireless Microphone and In Ear Monitor Systems
Scroll down to the k701's and below that... the K702s!!!
E.T.A. Late August 2008
Differences:
K701 comes with storage cradle, the K702 does not.
K701 has an attached cable, the K702 has a detachable cable.
K701 leather headband is brown, the K702 leather headband is black.
Looks like the list price is the same as the 701s (though that's probably copy and paste)
Sorry no red, but no cradle? i really likes the way the cradle looked, and was thinking of the 701s over the 650s just for that (pllus the way they look, oh so good).
