Unless powderhound's been yankin' our chain I would be very surprised if they were shipping. Perhaps ATP pulled the trigger a little early on charging your card?

Yeah I would assume it was ATP pulling the trigger but didn't know if anyone else heard anything. By what the thread has been saying I don't even think they are done yet, let alone shipping from dealers.

It'd be nice if the delay had been an early April Fools.

I'm assuming that with customs, a better fit equals a better seal equals better sound. But is that the only reason, or are there other differences in terms of construction/drivers/etc. ?
Yes a custom will give you a better seal and it will enhance the sound. The real difference comes in the construction. In the universal series you have a single "sound tube" AKA the nozzle for all 2 or 3 drivers to use. In a custom, each driver has it's own "sound tube" inside the canal portion of the mold. These "sound tubes" are also larger in diameter then the nozzle of a universal fit. The more the sound waves can move (with in reason) inside before they get to your ear, the better the clarity. The better the clarity, the better the listening experience. I could go more into detail, but that is the basic mechanics behind it.
have you released these pictures to your dealers and allowed them to post it?
I've seen on just now....PM if you've not allowed for its release by dealers.
