I hope Westone doesn't let this one fall between the cracks because I listened to Ray's prototype at Canjam yesterday and it sounded fantastic.I still have a few more to get to today but the Westone is my favorite so far.Gary.

Westone.

You missed out big time by not having a showing at all at CanJam.

Anyways.

Carry on with the silence....

Anybody else give these a listen at CanJam?

I'm willing to wait, but only if they are the best.

Ed, try reading the post above yours by Guss2. They heard Ray Samuel's W3's at CanJam, so it isn't improbable that someone else would've.

I'm not really sure if anyone else did get to hear them because Ray didn't have them out,I kinda just asked him if he brought them and he pulled them out of his bag for me to try. They sound excellent,so I'm gonna give Westone some more time before I give up.Gary.

yeah, i got to spend a bit of time with them too (with a brief comparison to my shure e500s and altec im716s). they are quite nice with some real impact on the bottom end. they are certainly competitive and will make some folks very happy. i'm not sure though that i'd say they're the best (different strokes for different folks) but some certainly will! there were a lot of nice products of the iem variety shown at canjam, with some competetively priced customs now available (eg FreQ) or coming soon (Sleek Audio). for those so inclined, and with the necessary patience, the answer might be the custom version of the westone 3 (see my recent post http://www.head-fi.org/forums/4150473-post2080.html).

In all fairness to the other IEM's I heard the Westones were the ones that gave me the best seal. Also,I'm new to IEM's so I've never listened to a custom pair, but Ray has and he loves the proto's.They were more like listening to headphones for me because they had a very full sound, which I favor.I wish I could be of more help here.Gary.
