Guess many might have bailed, considering that both shure and UE have already released their 3 drivers model. But there would be die hard Westone fans who would be willing to wait for it.
and how many will flood back in once the official release is announced...
I agree.
It's great seeing some noobs crying about delays. Westone is not the only iem company with delays. The Shure E500 was delayed a couple times, as well as the UE's Triple Fi.

I'm giving them until Christmas. If they're not out by the new year, I may just have to give the Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro, M-AUDIO IE-40, or maybe the LiveWires a shot until the Westone 3 is indeed released.
That being said, I'm also waiting for the Klipsch Custom-3, which also was delayed.
Despite Shure and UE have their triple driver earphones (SE530/Triple Fi 3), arent the Westone 3's 3 actual drivers: Low, Mids and Highs, whereas the 530 and 10's 2 Low and 1 High Frequency drivers?
Not 100% sure, but I was under the impression that this is what sets the Westone 3's up there?
As for me, I'm probably going down dual driver lane with the Super Fi 5's, instead of Livewires, as there is possibility of resell if I do decide to upgrade.
Personally I don't feel the UE3 and UE5 are enough of a diff to own both. If you don't wanna wait, the Westone UM2 is a very fine choice at $275 (current discount at Earphone Solutions, less elsewhere, e.g. Head-fi for sale forum), and Livewire customs for a bit more, or qJays for less.
If you really can't wait, at least try something new (another mfr or 2+ jumps with the same mfr). You're just not maximizing your experience with a single jump in the same product line.
