What kind of volume pot are you using?
Also, is there going to be a line out if you just want to take advantage of the DAC?

I didn't say that...I said there was no good way for me to add it without removing some other feature, and I wanted use with headphones to be most important

Just use the Pico output jack as a line out if you want to feed another amp, the Picos amp won't degrade the signal from the DAC much if at all. Thats what I'll be doing.
