Hi,Justin... One quick question. I expect the Pico to get rather a lot of use and I recall you saying at the NorCal meet that you are having the Li-Ion battery custom made for the Pico... If and when the Li-Ion decides to give up the ghost, will we be able to have the battery replaced???
Thanks... I loved the Pico prototype at NorCal.
The battery is user replaceable and would probably be about $20
i just got a RWA signature 30 that runs off battery power...when it's turned on the charging circuit is cut off. when it's turned off the charging circuit is turned on and charging ensues. so it's never really running on grid power, but you can keep it plugged in all the time. if you have it on while plugged in it doesn't charge since the charging circuit is cut off...so you can actually drain your battery even if it's plugged in.
i'm guessing that's how the pico will work (you can correct me if i'm wrong, justin)...

Yes, you can. There is a linear regulated power supply inside the amp for when running on wall power. The amp will switch to the wall power when plugged in, allowing the battery to charge without the charge controller being falsely triggered by peak amplifier currents. The battery does not continuously charge, it tapers off and stops when the battery is full. The charging is indicated by an LED on the front panel.
