i think the mac's volume wouldn't really work, so 100% is about right. i'm using my pico w amp as a dac for my gilmore lite and i put at at near max volume, using the gilmore lite to adjust for volume which sounds better to my ears (:

(1) Leave the Mac (iTunes software volume is the only one that affects the Pico) at full volume so you don't effectively lose some bit rate, then (2) either set the Pico to full in low gain and control at the speakers, or (3) set the speakers at full volume (or near that) and control the volume at the Pico. I do the last option when I am feeding Pico into another amp.

Can the Entire amp and DAC be powered Via USB or does it need to be plugged in to the wall to work when the USB is plugged in?

Only the USB DAC is powered by USB
The amp always runs on battery power, and the battery is charged by the DC Adapter

Does that mean the battery can be overcharged? Or does it stop charging once the battery is fully charged automatically?

It stops charging when the battery is full. There is a real charging circuit for lithium-ion/polymer batteries inside the Pico.

I am seriously considering the Pico Amp/Dac. I do have a question: if I connect the Pico to another amplifier to use its DAC do I have to use a mini to RCA adapter? Is there any sound degradation as opposed as using the DAC only Pico which has RCA connectors?

No, there's not going to be any difference in the sound with mini vs. RCA connectors

You may want to edit your personal information so you don't get a lot of spam and junk mail after the "webcrawlers" find it.
I also think that now that the pre-orders are over that you can just go to HeadAmp Audio Electronics and order from the website.

No response from Headamp
I ordered Pico on Tuesday (August 4) through the website but have not heard anything from Justin.
I called him but he didn't reply and the message box was full.
Do you know what is going on?

He's currently on the way to the bay area meet, I'm sure he'll get back to you when he gets back. I'm sure he received your order.
