Maybe its a shame to re-cable them? uhh
I do in fact work with the Grado HP-2. I replied to your PM and email. I will take good care of them if you let me.

Thanks,

Default W5000 Impressions!

I know I promised to post impressions yesterday, but I got so caught up in the music I completely forgot posting (no exaggeration, seriously).

I didn't believe in love at first sight until I opened up my W5000 case. The red fabric contrasted the black sleeving so perfectly...

So I plugged those babies into my amp, and first played Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick. As soon as I heard the opening guitar riff and the lyrics kicked in, I could hear a difference. Alex's v3 cable improved on all the W5000 characteristics, smooth/involving midrange, slight treble sparkle, great 3D soundstage, etc. but fortunately did not take away from the sound. Beyond describing the lows/mids/highs, the recable made the music more "real." It SOUNDS like music. It's realistic, an aspect I think many headphone manufacturers/designers oversee.

I've been listening to the W5000's any chance I get; every CD I play sounds so beautiful and involving. Past cables I've owned had their pros AND cons, but the v3 cable simply has only pros. I can't complain about anything, even if I'm being nit-picky.

I know who I'm coming back to for my future recables/interconnects...

On a sidenote, I'm loving the black sleeving and APureSound logo heatshrink.

Glad to hear you like the recable Mher6. I sent Alex my K701s to recable and can't wait to get them back.

Curiosity is making me wonder if I should sell my Zu Mobius and try out the APS v3. Decisions, decisions...

More stuff added to the site.

The first picture is an example of a hardwire cable to be self installed onto anything you want if you do not wish to send your headphones in for recable. I really like the XLR connector choice on this one. :3000smile

Alex,

Is the hardwire cable any less expensive? I don't see it listed anywhere on your site and have to think it's at least a little easier to fabricate.

Thanks,

Nate

Hi Alex,

Do you provide the Furutech XLR adapters as an option for an extra charge or do we have to buy them and send them to you? Just wondering.

Thanks.

I'm gearing up for a balanced amp purchase and the next thing right after that are cables. I am heavily considering your stuff for balanced interconnects AND balanced headphone recable.

Also, do you offer a balanced Furutech Senn HD-650 cable? Thanks!

Nate,

Currently APureSound does free installation on all headphones. I am hoping to keep it this way buy some headphones are quite time consuming. The price is no different because the installation is free.

I provide all connectors so that is no problem.

The Furutech connectors are just an optional addition from the stock connectors used. I can do this with any headphone and use any type of connector the buyer wishes. The additional cost depends on which connectors are used on the cable. If the connectors cost $170 for 2 then I charge $170 on top of the stock cable price.

I have no problem making a balanced HD650 cable using Furutech XLR connectors. Send me an email and I will get you started.

Thanks,
Alex

I have gotten a lot of emails and PM's about adapter cables for the V3 cables. They are available using the same topology and setup as the headphone cable itself.
