We are hoping for a late summer release, but this isn't 100% set. We will make this cable perfect so it might take longer than planned, but the release will be in the near future.
Thanks,
Alex
Excellent news, any chance of a ball park price? So i can start saving my pennies!

I just want to confirm that the UE cable we are building will fill ALL UE IEM's and not just the UE11's.
Thanks,
Alex
Hmmm, correct me if I am wrong but the connecting pins for UE's universal series and custom series are different. How are you planning to reconcile that?

Indeed...iirc, the connectors on UE's custom series are spaced out a hair or so more apart than their universal product brethren.

My Head-Fi feedback: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f12/th...ngmule-222217/
These are my finished K01's right here and I would like to post some impressions.
I loved the K701 from the moment I got them. I liked everything about them and I never felt they were bright like some do. They were simply the headphone I was looking for. Because I enjoyed their sound so much, I wanted to recable them in order to fulfill their potential. With some problems I had with my amps needing to be sent in for repair, I took advantage of the downtime and ordered the APS V3 cable.
Now about the cable itself. The worksmanship for one is top notch. Very clean and well done. The sound is now more refined. It increases resolution on an already detailed phone and really brings out the subtleties of tone in the music. The cable also tightens up the music and seperates the different elements (ex. instruments, voices, etc.) better than pre-cable K701. The soundstage is widened and deepened, creating a more layered presentation. Lastly it extends the low end, giving it more body and tonality.
In short, it takes what the K701 excels at and increases it. It brings out the true potential of the phones. For anyone who loves these headphones, the cable is an excellent investment. I am very happy with it.
Quick question though, how do I know which way the sennheiser plugs are connected? They are colour-coded for left and right, but they dont have the 'R' and 'L' symbols that face outwards on the stock cable to show that the plugs are being inserted with the correct polarity.

If you look closer you will realise the pins of the connectors are of different size, which match the holes on the headphone. So, they can only go in one way, and not the other.

I just did a count and saw that 118 APureSound V3 cables have been made and are out in the world, wow! Good job Head-Fi, putting new talented MoTs like [AK]Zip into business!
Alex, have you considered re-organizing your 118 pics of the V3 cables? As it is right now, that page takes a while to load (even on high bandwidth) and the lack of organization makes it unwieldy to find a specific headphone or count how many HD650s/K701s you've re-cabled, for example. Maybe you already have plans to re-work the layout, just thought I'd point this out as the pics down the page are getting fairly long....
Really looking forward to your upcoming high-end interconnects btw, can't wait to see what materials and connectors you'll be using!
