I apologize if this has been covered before Alex, but what is the main advantage of the super nylon over the standard sleeving?
The super nylon is softer and more flexible, so it is easier to stretch out/straighten out the cord when you go to put on the headphones, instead of it trying to stay in a loop like when it was rolled up last.
I have this on my RS-1 and HD600 cable, and wish I had it on all of them.

Just wanna get some advice on a possible "cable configuration" I'm thinking about... I have a new pair of Denon AH-D2000's. I'll just want to terminate w/ a 1/4", I think. Here's the thing: When at my desk, I don't want a super long cable--I'm thinking ~4' would give me plenty of length, w/ some slack if necessary. But, I also have a couch in my home office that I'll want to lay on w/ my cans on...it's about 7'-8' away from my desk. Does it make sense to get my cans cabled w/ 4', & then get an extension cable of 6'?
Never would've thought a month ago that I'd seriously contemplate spending $300 on headphone re-cabling...

Super Nylon sleeving is softer, lighter, and more flexible than our standard sleeving option.

There are quite a few people who use a method of this sort for their audio system where they have a short cable for PC use since their amp is right there on their desk and then an extension cable to hook up into their amp if they are on the couch, lazy boy chair, or even bed.
Thanks,
Alex

Yup, I basically have a 4 foot APS V3 extension with 1/4" plug, and I have Alex re-cable most of my headphones with 6 feet and a mini-plug to connect to the extension (one of my HD600 cables looks to be 3-4 foot, but the other is 6 foot).
If I had to do it over again, I might have done a 5-6 foot extension, but having at least 6 foot on the phones allows me to plug into my bedside rig without the extension, and lay in bed, fall asleep and toss and turn, roll over a couple of times, and not be pulling my amp or other stuff off the bedside table in the process.
Hmmm, I wonder if I might be getting close to a prize for the most APS cabled headphones - D2000, Edition 9, RS-1, RS-2, HF-1, and THREE HD600 cables (3-4 ft mini, 6 foot 1/4" and 8 foot balanced) = 8 cables + one extension. We did talk once about maybe doing my Proline 2500... Yikes!
