The grey looks fantastic. Will you be offering the cases on their own as you do with the other portables?

Just received my own FedEx package. Very impressive turnaround time.
I'm also in search of some new batteries. I've been using Ultralife lithium batteries but they're too big

SR71A has crossed over the pacific ocean and just been landed!
Seems like the afterburner has engaged, thank you very much for the quick shipment.
SR71A is damn good even just out of box.
After a few hours of quick burnt-in, I took a quick comparison with my old faithful original SR71.
As told before, SR71A is even better. More refined overall and resolved, bass is punchy.
SR71A is also a good match to UE11 with the new low gain mode, SR71A is blacker and no hiss, not muddy.
Only flaw is MAHA does not fits completely though ,great sounding SR71 gets even better. I am quite happy

New SR-71a has finally landed!
Well fellow headfiers its finally here! My blackbird has landed. I was waiting at my local Fedex with a load of fresh batteries for her first feeding. This is my very first posting. And it is only fitting that I do it with a little RSA style It comes in a little white cardboard box with a red velvet case, 4 clear silicone rubber foot pads, a little instruction pamphlet, and of course a beautiful black SR-71a headphone amp. I immediately hooked it up to my black 8gig ipod nano via my alo cryo line out dock. I flipped it on and hear an audible little "pop"! Im sorry but I love to hear that pop when I turn on my amps! Makes me feel like they are charging up. I plugged in my shure e4c earbuds and played my old old reference track. The Crystal Method, "Trip Like I Do". Wow everything sounds clear as a bell extremely low floor noise. You have to turn it up almost all the way to finally hear it. You will never hear it at even ear bleed volumes. Bass is good which i was hoping for. Exactly what this song should sound like. Next I played "Keep Hope Alive" which has some very cool parts that you can only hear with a good amp and lossless at the 2minute 12second part. I love it! Next I played Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein". Love this song and at even 128kbps, crappy, itunes level it sounds amazing. Jimi Hendrix was next in the line up. I noticed that on the cd's I have of his they must have been recorded at really crappy studios because they all have a lot of background noise. Having said that they also have extreme stereo separation. Im so glad Ray didn't include crossfeed on this or any of his other amps. Its like Jimi wants to seriously trip you out. The song "Castles Made of Sand" is one such song and I love the crazy guitar. This amp does it all folks. It has so much separation. Try listening to the "Space Intro" then "JetAir Liner" by Steve Miller band! It is seriously worth a listen. I had to look up to make sure I was still sitting in my garage. This amp is a class act. After I got home I plugged in my Sennheiser hd595's. I love these headphones and they really shine with the gain set to medium. Listen to The Eagles "Seven Bridges Road". Awesome sone and the amp simply reproduces the beautiful harmony. I just noticed as I listen to this song that I can actually hear the guys separately. Thats new So far I have been all smiles. And I know its going to get even better as it burns in. And please realize that all this expensive audio stuff is all ultimately made with one goal in mind. Thats to help us listen to the music as it was meant to be heard. The SR-71a with apple lossless, dac, and a line out ipod will do just that and put smiles on your face all the while. Cheers!

I use the Tysonic Maha rechargeable batrteries & many others, they all fit. You have to push hard on the back panel & then turn the thumb nut. Remeber the battery posts are new & they resist the pressure.
Cheers.

I resisted as long as I could. Seeing the pics of the Grey SR-71A put me over the top. Just placed my order. Can't wait to hear how it sounds.

My Blackbird was landed.
Today,my Blackbird was landed and the problem of batteris was solved.
The sound is wounderful.
1. Take off the rear panel

2. Remove of volume knob

3. Take out the circuit board.
4. Closen the gap of battery panel gentry.
Now, you can install MAHA batteris.
Sorry,bad English m(_ _)m
