Not quite there
Hey guys, I have had my record player for a little over a month or two now in for listening. Now I must preface this by stating I don't own any cd that I own a vinyl of. Anyhow, I currently have a technics sl1600 rig with an ADC integra special mount cartridge and stylus. I am also using a behringer preamp. Anyhow that being said, using my hd600s as the listening tool, the ipod unamped sounds clearer and more defined to my ears than the vinyl. My vinyls are a little limited in selection, but they all seem to lack impact, clarity and energy. Basically they sound like what I would expect from a cheap headunit that comes stock in most older cars, but of course without the static. What is my problem? The cartridge and the stylus?
