NEW Grado PS 1000 headphones!!!
Hi All,
We are very pleased and excited that Grado Labs has announced and is releasing a new flagship headphone - The PS 1000.
The PS1000 has a wooden inner housing and a metal outer housing. It also includes the new upgraded stock Grado cable - a four conductor cable. It is a bit heavier but worth its weight!
A very nice wooden box is available as an accessory for the PS1000. I will have more info on this soon. I was mistaken earlier when I said it was included. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has casued.
So you can pre order you PS 1000 now and get in on this great new headphone. The wait should not be a long one. Price $1695.
We can only ship these beauties in the USA, sorry!
Todd

So are you going to compare this to the HD800? Any photos?

They are trying to polish off any remaining cash reserves we had after the market mess.
Obama needs to give me a headphone gear bailout, imo.

This is the new king of the hill in the Grado lineup. Using a wood and metal to get the most and best of both materials, the PS1000 is, in our opinion, the best headphone ever to exit Grado headquarters. Detailed and a solid midrange with tight deep bass, the PS1000 exceeds its predecessor for pure musicality.
The PS 1000 comes in a nice wooden box too!
Hear one for yourself!!!

Ah well it's only $300 more than the HD800... practically the same thing, eh? I mean, that extra bit would only have been wasted on something stupid anyways...like food.

You would think for $1695 Grado could redesign their headband.
But the Aluminum mushroom caps look better than the GS1000's wooden ones.
Well, either way, it's great to see more flagship full size headphones out.

I would absolutely love if these ended up sounding like the hp-1/2 with a bigger soundstage.
