Yep. I really should write up some sort of review, but every time I put them on I get distracted by the music.

Oh my, I've been tag teamed, thank goodness mine will be here soon! Seriously, you're building the anticipation nicely, do go on...

Listening to the new Prince Cd Musicology now and I wonder how John was able to shove the subwoofer into the earpieces of the Ps1s :basshead:

Yes. I think they're the most detailed of the Grado's. All that and great bass too. However, they've got a great balance as well. It's as though the best of the HP-1000 and RS-1 were combined, then a dash of bass added.

i like the fact that i can see what i am listening to without having to look for it. also, the bass, midrange & highs are equally emphasized. they souund is as if equalizers are built into the headphones. another thing is that the ps-1's sound like the same pair of headphones no matter what they are plugged into. the details are superb.

Has anyone compared the PS-1 to the R10? Since you have both, how do they compare? And also, how do the PS-1 and K1000 compare?

The PS-1 has got a far more natural frequency response than the R10, to my ears. The PS-1 has got bass that the R10 can only dream about, and may be the most dynamic of the dynamic headphones. However, once you get to the midrange, the R10 takes over, IMO. It's got far more resolution than the PS-1 (with flat pads, anyway). The R10's spatial presentation is unmatched IME. I'd rate the PS-1 has having more finesse than the K-1000. The K-1000 is another headphone thats key feature is the sense of an acoustic space it can create. In that, it and the R10 each are unique in their own way.

For the ability to compel you into the music, the R10 is still the king IMO. But the PS-1 is getting very close.

So has there been any news regarding Grado producing these PS-1's for the domestic market, and thus, can be bought for a reasonable domestic price?
