HI All,
I cannot wait to post good news on the arrival of the HD800. Unfortunately this is not that post. I have received info saying the HD800 is now to arrive sometime in the first two weeks of May. Production has started (YEAH!!!) so it is a matter of them producing enough to satisfy all of our needs/wants.
Sorry - please do not shoot the messenger. And again, these truly are worth the wait!
Todd

Todd thanks for the update. They will be here when they get here. I've been enjoying my 650s with the Luxman P-1.

Todd, thanks for the update and go Sennheiser!
I'm appreciative to them for concentrating more on
quality and less on the timetable. Cheers Sennheiser!

Todd, we all appreciate the update and can hold out just a little bit longer! (but hopefully not too much longer.) Let us hope that this is the last and final delay. But better to have a perfect product released to market late than a rushed semi-perfect product.

The sad truth is that even with all of the delays, the HD800s will NOT be perfect..

Nothing in life is perfect! However things continue to improve and every new step gets us closer. Besides a lot of the fun is in the chase.

So All of those videos showing us a tour of the Sennheiser Plant a couple of months back with rows of 800's on a production rack was just a bunch of workers pretending to make HD800's?

I was referring to a perfectly made product, not a perfect sounding product. In this hobby there is no such thing as a perfect sound since everyone prefers a slightly different flavor. And it's usually the most neutral sounding equipment that people like the least. But if it's truthful and natural sounding, that's what we want.

Typical. Sennheiser created all the buzz to get excitement and interest. Done. Now, everyone has their tongue out wanting more. Done.
Now, you wait. Typical!!

And I was referring to 'perfectly made' also... Meaning possible defects slipping through, someone complaining about fit\finish, etc... I have yet to see any headphone successfully meet everyone's criteria (not including sound). I just think the word 'perfect' has been thrown around way too much in this instance.
