Todd,
Any idea why Senn is being so uncommunicative?

Seriously.
I know that I see Mr. Willett still saying that they're shooting for late March to April now but it's vague and he's kind of stuck out on a limb himself with a lack of information from his superiors.
Senn needs to do definitely get on the ball here IMO.

HI All,
Still no new updates. As soon as I hear anything I will be posting it here and on my website - I will post it here first.
Sennheiser is not being uncommunicative - they just do not have firm dates and numbers and rather than give out bad info they are giving out none at all. I truly believe that when they know something they will tell me.
I have dialed the number to Sennheiser USA so many times that i have it memorized and know all of the necessary extensions too! They are doing the best they can and are in a difficult spot too. I know they want to be able to commit to a date and a number of how many they are getting. So far they have not info and therefore I have no info. All I have is that they are still shooting for delivery this month
I can say this - after spending a week with the HD800 it is worth the wait...

Thanks, Todd. It is really good to get this information, i.e. a confirmation that there is no firm date and quantity yet is a lot better than the conflicting rumors floating around on various threads.

Hi All,
I have not been able to compare the HD800 and the PS1000. That will be coming soon. I will have the PS1000 for me in a few short (I hope they are short) weeks. In my brief listen to the PS1000 (before the HD800) I thought it to be the best headphone ever to come from Grado labs and certainly one of the all time great cans. I feel that way about the HD800 too.
I have heard both cans and they are both a great improvement over the older models. I can't wait to plug them into the 307A and compare. I may wish I had 2 heads and 4 ears at that point.
The release of these 2 headphones makes for an exciting time for all of us headphone geaks!!! I cannot wait to hear the comparisons from all of you. It also will teach us patience
Todd

HI All,
Mid to late April is now the expected time for the HD800 to appear. They are having problems with the finish of the product - a cosmetic problem and not a mechanical or audio problem. I will post a longer posting here tomorrow. I am swamped in a record collection I just purchased and am up to my ears in the black stuff - and having fun!
