Glad you did. Luckily I was home. They left it sitting in front of my house (under an overhang) in a torrential downpour that easily added 4" to the water in our swimming pool. Would have been interesting to see that package after a couple hours! But things worked out, I was on it beofre the deliveryman made it back to his truck... I have to open it up and give it a listen this evening. I've really been curious how the Benchmark would stack up against the Meridian gear and since my Meridian 588 is still sitting in California I haven't had a chance to compare yet.

gpalmer, you probably saved the G08's life. Based on what you described under that extremely wet weather it most certainly would have drowned in no time.
How does the G08 stack up against the Benchmark? The suspect...

Well, it turned out to be 8" so it probably would have drowned... Unfortunately since I got the G08 in I've only been home for three days with the rest of my time spent out of town... D'Oh!! Needless to say, the comparison hasn't been performed yet...

Hah, he's bordering on naive not to expect someone to run away with a six thousand dollar CD player.
