John, I ordered one last Tuesday, my only concern is if it will drive my Senns HD590 properly using a discman as a source....... I had this problem in the past trying to drive a low impedande Grados with the Litlle (more supply) using a dicman....
By the way, have you switched op-amps? if you have, have you heard any difference?

I had mail yesterday from Ray that hopefully they will be available in 30 to 40 days. I am strongly thinking of switching to the Stealth from my recent XP-7 as I find I don't really use the portability of the XP-7.

I used several portables and an iPod with the XP-7 at the Chicago meet. It handled everything quite nicely, thank you. I drove Senn 600's and AKG K340's with it, so I see no reason why it shouldn't drive the 590's.

Has anyone tried the XP-7 with RS-1s? I would be listening to classical (primary), jazz, and rock. I'm also wondering which Opamp [ ] sounds the best with classical.

I have listened to the RS-1's with the XP-7 and it does a great job with them. The amp does not color the sound so the character of the Grado's shines through.
As far as Op Amps I would listen to the stock one for a few weeks before you start rolling them. If you do a search for HR-2 AND op amp you will find many opinions. All are just as valid with the XP-7.

Imagine my delight! After years of listening to music through the most terrible "shelf systems" and portable players/headphones imaginable, I just received my first amp, the XP-7, which feeds my also new SR325s. I couldn't be happier. Thanks, Todd, for shipping the amp so quickly! I'll give more impressions later.

The Emmeline XP-7 will be shipping again to me in about 1 week. They are well worth the wait! Each amp is hand crafted by Ray himself and they are immaculately put together. Thus, they take some time to produce and the demand is very high for these amps. As soon as I receive them I will ship them out to those of you on back order.
Dimitri,
I'm glad to hear you are pleased with the amp - it truely is a fine way to listen to music!!!

Another thing about every amp from Ray is that they are burned in for 100 hours before shipment. This allows you to fully enjoy them right out of the box. He also fully tests them after the burn in period to make sure everything is perfect.

I believe I placed the order Sunday, October 26th (9 days ago). I called Todd the Wednesday after ordering to find out when I should be expecting the amp. If I recall correctly, he said that Ray was in the process of making a batch of them; they would get to TTVJ in about 10 days or so. I was surprised and thrilled to come home to a package yesterday. 8 days total waiting. Impressive, considering these amps are hand-built. I was surprised and thrilled again when I discovered my recently obtained Plainview 9.6v batteries were charged straight out of the box. I did not want to wait 8-10 hours to crank up my XP-7!
