Yea, that is certainly true. Also the fact that sometimes the SQ is bad because of wrong or bad "sounding" tubes.

Looking forward to meet everybody, I am quite sure this meet is going to be a lot of fun

Thanks Anouk for directing me to this thread.
Of course I'm interested. I'm selling some of my gear at the moment, but who knows what will be in my posession by then...

Good idea, can somebody print labels/stickers so we can just write down our names on them and stick them onto our forehead (or whereever you want them)
I can take care of that, in case nobody has a better idea.

btw... the friendly DHL guy just came over to bring me my Stax package:

Greetings, Anouk,
The Classic System II which consists of the SR-303 earspeakers and SRM-313 driver unit and I can only say... WOW! Not just that I really love how they sound, they looked like being in bad shape on the pictures and that what I told the seller. Well, they came in the original packaging and look brand new to me. No scratch, no mark, dent or whatsoever.

Digitalmind, that Rega sure looks nice. Though I don't see myself using vinyl it would be really cool if you would give it to another head-fier.

Smuh, have you won the lottery? HD650 and now a Stax system. Team more music:less equipment.. That's only because you listen 12 hours a day to music.

What do you people say about 20 December? That's a saturday and for me the start of my holiday (till the 4th of January ). 3d of January seems good as well. My tests start the 15th so preferably not the 10th.

I still have those badges you can attach to your shirt from the meet I once organized. If one wants we can use those and I'll take them along.

December will be impossible for me, with work and a lot of birthdays coming up and the uncertainty of my boyfriend being cured from his disease by then.
Enjoy your holiday apatN!!

You should Indra! Digital is by far the handier method of listening to music, but also way less fun.

Have fun in New York, you lucky one!!

A date...the beginning of january sounds fine so far. My brother has his birthday the 7th of January and I am not sure when he'll celebrate... Preferably a sunday for me. I am not one of the blessed ones with a holiday
Which speaker project? The JLows (the huge ones) or the Oris horns? I played with the JLows for almost as long as 6 months, and never got around to the Oris's.
I got rid of both projects in favor of a new one; Tannoy 10" Super Red monitors which are still in their original cabinets. Will eventually throw them in a bigger closed cabinet.
While I regret getting rid of the JLows (they were truly great with the Jordan JX92s drivers), these speakers are a step up and a substantial upgrade.

And thanks! I am indeed. Still have to find a hotel and arrange it all, but the tickets are right beside me.

Beterschap ook van mijn kant!

Please tell me you're keeping your Tannoys!

There's a pair of 15" Gold's on Marktplaats. If only I could afford them.

December 20th would be possible for me but I think it's too quickly for most. Won't be as much fun if people miss out.

Thanx a lot! It's not too good, though treatable: Tuberculoses.
It got established last week when we arrived back from Florence. Quite a shocker. He has to be on some heavy antibiotics for 2 months and will have to take a softer version for 4-6 months after that. The first 20 days he has to keep away from public places so it's been pretty weird. I have a test coming up next friday to see if I am okay.

Yeah...I am still in doubt...I will buy a TT in the future anyway coz my dad rediscovered his old records Yihaa!!! Those are some cool ones. He still has to find another box (moving kills fun stuff) but it's looking pretty good as in, he still has all of his old records. And they seem to be in stunning shape as he took real good care of them. It would be a waste never to use them so I'll get one sooner or later, we'll see

Oh haha, I missed out on a lot I guess
These look cool though! I hope we get around to hearing them on the PreParty!

Hello Indra, Wow tbc. I thought that was a sickness from the past (1950s) and that it was long gone by now!
I hope your boyfriend will be allright.

Hey, something totally off-topic, I was just reading through the corda symphony thread, and someone mentioned a high-end amp called the phonitor. Anyone heard of this one?

Greetings, Anouk,
I heard it briefly at my last visit to Hans (he sells them). I am EXTREMELY interested in it as it sounded awesome; clean, tight, fast, pretty neutral (whatever that means) and very controlled and detailed.
I was listening to it with a Naim CDP which I am totally not familiar with and the ed9 which I came to pick up so I wasn't too familiar with those either so take my comment with a grain of salt.
There's a thread in the amp-section of head-fi about them and Hans loved them. Retail I believe around € 1700,- which is not too shabby if it can deliver.
SPL Phonitor, new reference amp?

Greetings, Anouk,
I heard it and it is a VERY good amp. I consider buying one in Germany (only 1440 euro, sorry Hans).
fkclo has also bought one, but he hasn't used it yet.
