Nooooo... Not again, you evil monkey!! There's a credit crisis, haven't you heard?! The wallet is empty and will stay home just to be sure!
But just to be clear: what exactly is collecting dust?
I can bring my Zana Deux if anyone is interested...

Nice Wotan. BTW, I was thinking about all the music you are listening so was wondering if any of you use last.fm? If so, please share. My profile can be found here.

Hello Everyone, A dutch meet would be very interesting indeed, Eindhoven is not too far away for me. I am not sure if school will permit it but I will certainly keep following this tread. I REALLY want to hear tubes/ESPECIALLY the zana deux!!
Greetings, Anouk,

Hello, I have what headroom now calls the ultra desktop. So the desktop chassis with the max dac module and max amp module, I also have the custom stepped attenuator (which does not come standard with the ultra desktop) and I also have the external desktop power supply, which is not standard. It is the best setup I have heard up till now, although that does not say toomuch. Very neutral, transparant and dynamic with a tiny smidge of warmth. I would like to try something a bit less neutral though to see if I like it. I have just got totally no reference besides my current rig. The desktop rig, is rather portable though, although it has to run on net power, and you can do a LOT with it. It is the total heart of my audio system.
I have to note though, buying from headroom is certainly not cheap. You HAVE to pay taxes, which sucks, other manufacturers are easier about this especially when you are dealing with amps. And they ship with fedex which is also not cheap.
I must say though they are really nice folks.
And they have a 30 day return policy which I have successfully used in the past.
Greetings, Anouk,

If you can't get a (cheap) flight over to Amsterdam you could also fly to Duesseldorf. I live close to Duesseldorf and could pick you up.
I would bring my Marantz CD-72, Echo Indigo DJ, M-Audio Audiophile USB, Beyerdynamic DT 250 and the Stax 3030.
Maybe the HD 650 if they are not sold by then and another source (most proabably USB DAC)

Hi all! (and thank you Anouk too ) Good idea Rik! I'm curious as to what the date will turn out to be. If I can make it, bringing equipment will be very tough for me though. I'm still really eager to hear a SR-007 once though, so if one will be present that would be an incentive for me.

Hello everyone, I hope Hans will pick this up, Eindhoven would be a very good, more or less central location I think....

Thanks a lot for the offer!
I might actually pick up on this one, cause the low price airline Norwegian.no have direct flight Oslo - Dusseldorf. With prices down to $135 inclusive taxes for a tour/return trip.
Depends on the date if I can make it though.

I would certainly like to join. I don't have the most extensive list of gear, but at least I have DT880's, a D2Viper, and a laptop which we can use for playing music from..
So, yeah, I can be game if I'm not very unlucky.

Hello everyone, Wow this could turn out to be some international meet, lol! I think some laptops could be useful because I assume more people are using a dac as source. A stax 007 would be totally cool! I so want to hear that headphone!
Anyone got an akg ka000???
Oh yes Blackmore, if you are reading this, I realized yesterday evening that Hans probbably has an audio technica w5000 as demo model....

Thanks Anouk. Too bad it's beyond my budget. I was kind of hoping you would have the mini DAC.

I sure hope so. I need inspiration for spending my money in the future.
As for music. How do you usually take it with you? I have all my music digital but also have some CDs. I can bring some of them and ideally I can bring my internal HDD if someone decides taking his PC to the meet. Or I take my own if I can fix a car.

Hello, No sorry, I dont have the ultra micro dac/amp because they do not have a preamp output, which I need in my system. If you do not need the preamp output, I think they will be nearly as good as what I have, pity you are too late for their price dropping sale htough, it just ended. I think its a real pity they dont make those ultra micros portable, thats the only field where headroom is lacking at the moment, good portable stuff. I use an imod to take my stuff with me, I can take it with me to the meet, but then I wont be able to use my dac. At this moment I have no amp for the imod because i am nto going out that much this month. I might take a laptop with me since I have two at home, but the older one needs to be reinstalled. I also have space limitations, if I take my home stuff and my headphone(s) that would pretty much be it if I travel by train, taking a laptop would be difficult.
My new laptop has windows vista and I am not so sure if that works well with audio.
Oh yes, if you want an amp with dac and preamp out maybe the corda symphony is something for you!.
Greetings, Anouk,
