Houston Head-Fi Meet #2 on October 17

Fall is coming, and that means the temperature here in Houston might get below 90. It's a great time for a headphone meet, don't you think?


When and where:
Date: October 17, 2009
Location: Lakes Of Brightwater Clubhouse, 2410 Brightwater Drive, Missouri City, TX 77459
Time: 10AM-6PM.
Admission fee: $10 (please paypal in advance if you can, PM me for info)
Admission fee will be used to cover costs of renting the clubhouse, excess funds will be donated to Head-Fi.

Please remember:
1) No alcohol, smoking, or red beverages are allowed.
2) Please come with a clean head and ears.
3) Bring your own power strips, power conditioners, extension cords, etc.
4) Label your gear – a piece of masking tape with your name can prevent mixups.
5) BRING YOUR CAMERA AND TAKE PICS
6) Take notes and post your impressions.

We can always use more folding tables, card tables, etc. so bring 'em if you got 'em.

We'll try to organize a dinner after the meet just like last year. I think the pub will still let us in.

Someone please bring a fire extinguisher or two... you know who you are.

Snacks are good, especially that sausage and cheese! Mmmm...

I talked to Jack Woo today about my order for Woo 6SE, and encouraged him to send some gear to our meet for demo. He will let Ken know.

Hey guys I hate to be a bummer, but since I'm the first to raise questions about finances and exclusions in this meet thread...

I think it's important that we be very open about things here, and try to follow the tradition Head-Fi "Any member is welcome" philosophy in our meet.

With Orcin at the helm I think that's quite simple to do.

As far as those members who might not be able to attend due to lack of funds, I'd suggest a kitty to be collected and used for extra attendees that might be strapped for cash.

I'll be the first to pledge to donate two extra admission fees to be used in such a way.

If the kitty has any leftovers we could simply donate them to Head-Fi.

Does that sound reasonable? Any thoughts either way?
