UPDATE: scouting out locations in Marlboro for July 26th. I apologize to the people who might not have a way to the meet, or if the time doesn't fit into your schedule, but majority rule.
We can organize car pool pick up when we get closer to the date. I'll have a couple seats open in my car, however, I don't know if I'll be living in Boston or New Hampshire come end of July.
-----------
There was a slow, meandering post for an interest check in a Boston meetup that, unfortunately, didn't go anywhere.
The best thing to do now is just set a date and have people say 'yay' or 'nay'
I don't mind setting the thing up, as I'm sure there will be other ambitious souls who will be more than willing to help.
Is Marlboro still good for everyone? (I live in Boston, so it really doesn't matter.. as long as it's not too far west)
How many people usually show up at the Boston meets?
----
I'll keep a running list here of those interested and the gear they're bringing.
I'm definitely interested, but is there anywhere thats closer to the city and reachable by commuter rail perhaps?
The question always comes up.
The plus to Marlboro is that it is MUCH more accessible to most people instead of driving into Boston. Parking is easy, and most people feel much more willing to bring their expensive gear. The downside is that around 5 or so people each time do not come because they have no car. Some of them get a ride from another person, but I'm sure there are still some that do not make it.
The problem with having it around the city is horrible parking, hard to reach, people do not feel safe bringing expensive gear, etc.
I am much more likely to go to Marlboro than I am to Boston. I personally think it would be nice to have a Marlboro meet, and at another time a Boston meet.
Another thing to note - generally, closer we get to the city, more it costs to secure a venue for the meet.
Also, whoever that ends up hosting the event and paying for the venue must accept the possibility of not getting enough donations to cover the cost of the venue. Yeah, that sucks, but it is always a possibility.

Two excellent points. Both noted. I don't mind putting up the entire sum... however, having a 'co-host(s)' wouldn't be such a bad idea either.
I'm looking now at places around 35-40 capacity, just to make sure.
