Default Upgrading DacMagic PSU, yes or no?

I'm not sure wheter it should be here or in the source forum.

Since little over a month i own a DACmagic and i simply love it but i hate the wall-wart type of psu's.
Big bulky thing taking up 2 powerslots, with a flimsy wire running form it.

So i've been looking and reading around a bit and found some sites and threads that have a lot of contradicting posts and
articles about the fact wether or not it is usefull to upgrade the PSU.
I would like to upgrade to get rid of the wall-wart psu but if its just that and not adding anything except for the hole that is burning
in my bankacount since i joined head-fi, im not shelling out €100 or more.

So far i found the following replacements:
Little Pinkie, PSU for Musical Fidelity X-CAN V2 / X-LPS / X-10D / X-DAC / X-PRE / X-Tone / Cambridge Audio DacMagic
AC-12 PowerPak for DacMagic : product details Upgrade your DacMagic po...

The pinky getting my preference so far, solely for the fact that it gets rid of the wall-wart

Thoughts, ideas and suggestinos more than welcome.

Regards,

Well.. I don't know why you'd pay €100 for a 12v transformer in a box. If you just want to get rid of the wall-wart.. you could get a DIY'er to do you better for way less.

From Russ Andrews website:
Quote:
AC-12 is a compact, 12V AC power supply that works with the DacMagic and also can be used with Musical Fidelity equipment that similarly uses a 12V AC power supply. And our listening tests showed that AC-12 is a big upgrade over the standard-supplied wall-wart.
May I conclude: I can use the Musical Fidelity PSU for feeding the Dacmagic?
Has anybody done this?

Russ Andrews was recently done by the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) for bogus claims for power components so you might want to take this into consideration.
