Default ... A SUBWOOFER-CALIBRATION QUESTION ...

... I recently acquired a stereo reciever with built-in bass management ... This bass management is suggested to be used while disabling the crossover of the powered subwoofer, however, there is no crossover disabling feature on the sub -- it can only be tuned down to 60HZ, or up to 120HZ & one of these extremes is considered the "default" position ...

... Which one is it ? ... If I'm sending an 80HZ-&-below signal to my subwoofer, would turning it all the way up introduce distortion; or would turning it all the way down rob me of 20HZ of frequency response ? ...

correct. Turn it up to 120Hz, that minimizes the effect of the sub's crossover.
