Default studio monitor help

hey everyone im new to the whole audiophile thing i dont know much but i want my music to sound the best it can, first i was looking at logitech z5500 5.1 speakers for everyday computing use but then i was thinking i should get something better. now im thinking about getting the m-audio bx8a's from my local guitercenter for 300 bucks, so i was wondering of anybody has and thought about these speakers or recommend me different speakers, i would say my budget is in the 400 dollar range. thanks for your time

A5 would be the top recommendation. The BX8A also come in a "Deluxe" version, btw, with improved amps.

Where does it say that the amps are improved? The specifications for both are exactly the same...

Add the Mackie MR5 to the list as well.

I'd second the Mackie MR5 for the price. Also, if your interested in BX8's then try to find a used ORIGINAL pair. The newer versions don't sound as good to me as the originals did.

That being said, my HIGHEST recommendation would be that you save up for some Mackie HR824's. I don't think you could do better for the money.

The power ratings are different, no? Or is it the tweeters? Something or other.
