Does anyone know of a good source for info on stereo mini-plug/jack dimensions and tolerances? I know that 3.5mm and 1/8" is not an exact match, but how much tolerance is there in a typical fabrication? Is there any international standard that these are typically designed to?

3.5 mm is 1/8 ", 6.35 mm is 1/4".
I beleive the metric measure is closer to the tolerance of the standard.
But whatever the measure is given in, metric or inch, they should fit!
My experience is that gold plated jacks/plugs give a tighter fit in the connector, as most are plated in zinc, and the gold plating is then added on that coating, giving a slightly thicker plug.
