Default Speaker Cables

Any suggestions under $300.? My main requirement is they must not be bright. These will be for the LS3/5a monitors, which I am asuming will be a bit analytical.

Get Van Den Hul or Chord Co. for smooth and warm cable to tame the brightness, avoid QED and Nordost.

I'm using Kimber Kable 8TC's on my Spendor S3/5's (bi-wired), which are a LS3/5a clone (but possibly different impedance -- isn't the original LS3/5a 14 ohms nominal?). Hard to tell if they're dark or not. I don't think so, but everyone else on all the boards tell me they should be. Doesn't sound analytical at all, sounds juicy and delicious with my EL84-based tube amp.

The homegrown audio silver 16 is what I'd buy for $300... of course, I'd rather save a lot of money and build some Jon Risch Belden 89259 or ChrisVH Cat5 speaker cables (the latter being harder). Analysis plus seems to make good cables too.

I'm quite happy and satisfied with my Tara Labs RSC-Prime 1000 biwired cables. They're available locally at Audio Lab for $250. I'd characterize them as smooth, they definitely let the bass through.

I've tried (and own) Kimber 8TC and Tara RSC Prime and both are good. However, my favourite budget speaker cable is DH Labs Q10. It is even cheaper if you buy it off the roll from Welborne Labs and terminate it yourself.

Thanks all. I 'm glad everyone is positive in their choices--no half-steppers here. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure what these speakers will sound like, but I'm pretty excited. They are the late model 11 ohm Rogers model. I do have the option to bi-wire but haven't decided on that yet.

I have the Cardas Crosslink, they're ok, I'd like to try the DH Labs Silver Sonic Q-10.

I've recently switched my interconnect cables to the BL-1 series II. I absolutely love them, awesome soundstage! They don't sound bright at all, perhaps it's because my speakers are warm and laid back.
