Questions about various cables
Hi guys,
I am trying to start selling audio/video stuffs, and one of them will be cables, so I am doing research about the following questions. I have researched and came up with the answers but I am wondering if I got it right, because my source of information is wikipedia and bunch of websites.
1. I noticed that in HDMI, there is HDMI 1.3 and 1.3b, what does it mean? how does this affect the consumers?
- from what I read, the 1.3b means that the newer version of the cable. The newer version will be able to receive more data in a single link?
2. I noticed there is there is a type A, B and C HDMI, can you guys give me an example on each type's usage?
- I understand type A is for HDTV cable box and such and Type C is the mini version of type A. how about type B? no products use it yet?
3. For coaxial cable, I noticed there is 50 ohms, 75 ohms, etc. What does this ohms signifies? can I just use it interchangebly with a same device (e.g my DAC?)?
- I can't even begin to answer this question. I read from Wikipedia and it gives me a bunch of formula, and makes me more confused. I read from a bunch of other websites, it says high voltage, high impedance is good, but it does not explain why.
4. What does Super Slim HDMI and HDMI flat means?
- Super Slim HDMI means the cable is thinner and HDMI flat means the cable is flat? but thinner cable in HDMI should means it is not better, so why is it generally more expensive?
5. What does HDMI A-M means?
- can't find any info regarding this.
Sorry for the long post but your expertise is highly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Alright, new updates:
I received sample cables from my suppliers, however, I am not sure how to test this cables out. I watch Blu-Ray movies and I play some PS3 games with it. I can tell there is only very subtle difference, but it might be placebo effect. So, do you guys have any recommendation on a more objective test?
What I have done so far:
1. check out the material and the shielding, and I think they are all about the same. I did try to compare it with Blue Jeans Cable and Monster Cable that I have.
2. Watched Punisher, Talladega Nights, and various other movies using the different cables.
3. Played NFS: Undercover, NBA 2K9, Assasin's Creed, GT 5 with different cables

Ok, yet another new updates.
After a day of research, testing and everything, I come to a conclusion that since the file transferred in HDMI cable is digital, the size of the cable does not matter, thus what I was noticing may simply be placebo effect.
Also, what I found out is....NFS: Undercover is so damn addictive....
Have a good weekend all

This is what you need. HDMI Cables from Blue Jeans Cable
Quality cables for a decent price. Theses guys know their science and they do not overcharge. Honest people I have to say.

Alright, in answer of my extremely noob questions above, this is the answers I have come up with
HDMI A-M = HDMI type A, MALE!!! that was big DUH~ popped up on my head. hahhahaha
super slim HDMI and flat simply imply the size of the cable, since data transfer in HDMI is purely digital, cable size not considering the material has no effect on it.
HDMI 1.3b simply means it transfer more and faster data....
the coaxial questions....still working on it hahaha
