Default Quality in 1/4" to 1/8" adaptors

I've got the Senn 595s and am currently using the barrel adapter but plan on picking up a dongle-style one to be safe. My question is, is there any difference at all in sound or build quality between the ~$5 Senn and the ~$15 Grado adapters? And (while I'm asking), between either of these and the stock? If it matters, my amp/DAC will probably always be entry-level (with a cutoff in the $200 range)

I did a search but couldn't find anything on this, so sorry if it's been done before. Thanks for any help.

You're better off with Sennheiser 1/4" to 1/8" cable replacement. It's a 1/4" female -> cable -> male 1/8" connector. Puts less stress on the 1/8" side. You can also build your own with better cables and connectors but you really wont notice any differences in terms of sound quality (thats IMO, not worth the trouble...).

Thanks for the quick reply...I guess I might as well save money and go with the Sennheiser version.

Since I already made a thread and this is the accessories section, does anyone know where I can find a headphone bag, w/ a shoulder strap? Just something to carry cans and maybe an ipod (not essential)?

Headroom doesn't seem to have anything like this, and I've had no luck with ebay. A friend of mine has something apparently intended for bose triports, but I haven't been able to spot one of those either.

Headroom does carry them, but they aren't cheap

Mind as well get one of these northface waist bags (kind of like fanny packs but cooler ). They're cheaper, much better looking, cooler (i'm a teenager so thats a must), and more practical. I don't wear them on my belly thugh, i wear them on my back side.

if you want to get a northface one, i have 3 of the same model (dark green/black and black/black and grey/black) and i also have 2 of the same model mountain smiths (green/black and blue/black). if you want, pm me and we can work something out and i'll take pictures of them too. i'll let the northface ones go cheap. =]

don't ask, i used asspacks exclusively from highschool through college. northfaces for highschool (yea, you can tell i didn't study much), and mountain smiths for college since it fit my binder and 2 textbooks. all come with waist straps, but the 2 mountain smiths have shoulder straps. the green one is an older model with a detachable shoulder strap and the blue one's isnt' detachable.

holler? lol

never thought baout selling them as they sit in my closet, never to be used again, but i figure i might as well post here. =T

I think you're getting the Senn and the Grado confused. I have both.

This is the Grado 1/4" to 1/8" adapter cable -->

JLR64...YGPM.
Edit: Please disregard the PM. Sale is pending for the Grado adapter already.
